The more NHRA events that I go to the more I learn to appreciate the sport and its drivers. Being able to harness all that power and make it down the track in under 4 seconds in a pretty amazing feat for the teams, and being able to be right at the start line only a few feet away is pretty exciting.
My Best Photos of 2010
2010 has been a great year for me and my family. My amazing wife Jamie and I have seen our son turn into a blob of a baby to a growing young man. Its crazy how fast time flies by and watching him grow up and being a parent with Jamie has been the best part of the year. I also turned 30 this year, celebrated our two year wedding anniversary, crashed my quad and broke a vertebrate, went to Kauai, and once again went to a lot of great locations to do what I love, photography.
NHRA – Sledgehammer to the Chest
This past November I had the opportunity to help out photographer and friend Mark Rebilas at the NHRA Finals at the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA. Surprisingly this would be the first time that I’d shoot anything that wasn’t on dirt, so I was excited to shoot something new and different. My biggest challenge would be never having even been to a drag racing event, getting used to the schedule of how things are run. Little did I know my biggest challenge would be getting used to a Top Fuel car going by me at 200+ mph only 6 feet from me.
