Baby Lucas Zindroski is here!

The day we’ve been waiting for finally came on August 3rd, 2009.

At 10:13am Baby Lucas came into the world, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces. We are both extermely happy and we couldn’t ask for a better son. Jamie did wonderful through labor, only dropping the F bomb a few times :). She was amazing the whole time and has continued to amaze me with how great of a mother she is. Jamie has a blog of her own where she wrote a post on our birth story, so please check it out for more information on the big day!

Mountain Bike Photoshoot – The MooseKnuckle Chronicles

Spent the day out in O’Neil Park in Orange County, CA with two friends Jordan May and Chris Hanson doing a mini impromptu photoshoot.  The last time I shot mountain bikes was back in March when I covered the Warriors Society Counting Coup race.  It was my first time shooting mountain bikes and really enjoyed it.  Ever since then I’d been itching to shoot another race, but my schedule hasn’t allowed it.

LOORRS Lake Elsinore + Heat + Mud + Batwing = Wow

This past weekend was Rounds 5 & 6 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series, out in Lake Elsinore, CA. Short course racing is always fun to shoot because unlike desert racing, you get a lot of chances to photograph each vehicle. It gives you more opportunities to try out different angles, techniques, and try out different spots on the course. In a desert race you may only see a trophy truck one or two times, but in a short course race you get to see all vehicles 30-40 times throughout a 3 day weekend.

Headed down to the SCORE Baja 500, and didn’t die.

With all the talk about the dangers down in Mexico I didn’t go down there for any races during 2008.   I’ve never been a die hard fan regarding races down in Mexico, I actually prefer the races up in the states.  Maybe its the nicer hotels and buffets.

Rockcrawling in Hannibal, MO

This past weekend I made the trek out to Round 2 of the WEROCK Eastern Series in Hannibal, MO.  I’ve yet to cover an event out there yet so I was excited to visit the land of Mark Twain.  For those of you who have never heard of Hannibal it is where the author Mark Twain grew up and inspired many of his books including Huckleberry Finn.  You can visit the cave in which has an important part in the book, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it there.  Maybe in the future with the wife and kid.

Mountain Bike Race – Counting Coup / Vision Quest

For the past five years I’ve been lucky enough to travel the country and photograph different types of off-road motorsports.  Being able to combine my love for photography and off-road has been good to me and I am grateful at each event I cover that I get to do what I do.  As a photographer I try and improve each time I’m out somewhere shooting, and one way I think is a good way to do that is try and photograph something different.  It gives you a new way of looking at things and gives yourself a challenge.  Doing something you’ve never done before always teaches you something new about yourself.
