Everyone has that moment in their life that they say their life has changed. That moment for my wife and I came on August 3rd, 2009 when our first child came into this world. In three short weeks our son Lucas has turned our life upside down. Priorities change.

Baby Lucas – 3 Weeks Old

We are so lucky to have an amazing little child, who’s happy and healthy. He has a few nicknames already, Bubba, Peanut, Bud, Lukey, Little Guy, we’ll see which one he likes when he’s 16. Probably none.

We can look at him for hours while he sleeps. Even when he’s crying he’s cute.

This week was my first week back at PCI, and I haven’t been to a race since the end of June. I don’t think I’ve been away from a race that long since 2004. The 2 weeks I had off after Lucas was born was great, after working so much the past two years it was amazing to be home with Jamie and Lucas with nothing to worry about (except the whole having a newborn and being 100% responsible for it). I’m not gonna lie, I’m itching to get back to a race and do what I love, but it will be different now. My first race back will be the SCORE Primm 300, and I plan on making it a quick trip. The sooner I get back the quicker I get to be with my family again.
